Plastic Jesus was written in one felled swoop in early 2004. It's about the desperation of a long distance relationship & the irrational things we feel & the irrational things we do to keep it together.

This is written and played on a DADGAD tuned guitar in a loose three quarter time. A slightly twisted love song. The saddest line for me is I'd forgotten it all and kissed someone new, that stirs memories better left as memories. Originally written with the obvious final word (think about it) that the band thought sounded better omitted. It's a good thing to have tasteful editors.

This is a song about those times where you really are wading through treacle to get through to a loved one. It's messy and the harder you try the more difficult it gets.

This is a live room recording & pretty self-explanatory. A studio version will be released on 'Hunting Deer With Accordions' in late 2007

This is a strange one written back in 2001 where I was in a bit of a nosebleed, writers block, settled down & engaged, gloriously happy & not conducive to writing love-lost songs. This is the only thing I wrote for a good six months. I always look at this and wonder. It is one of the most premonitious bits of writing I've ever done. Within the following couple of months she very simply told me it wasn't working for her and within a week - kaputt - leaving me a little bit heartbroken. A little bit sick, but I've actually got a recording of her singing this back when we were okay - life can be odd sometimes !

Songs from our 2006 album Cigarettes, Gin & Dead Dogs.. and some live room recordings of songs to be released on Hunting Deer With Accordions (available late 2007)
